• Q: I see you are carrying a lot more FIA Certified suits. What is the difference between FIA and SFI-5 suits?
  • A FIA is more of an international certification while SFI-5 is more North American based. Many teams in the US use FIA primarily, especially IMSA, Indy, and others. From our experience, the FIA certification is allowed anywhere that the SFI-5 certification is. A FIA rated suit is a Multi-layer suit, equivalent to a SFI 3.2A/5 rating. There is no comparable FIA rating for Single Layer SFI 3.2A/1 suits.
  • Q: Do you have a retail storefront where we can visit or pick up merchandise?
  • A: Sorry, we don't. To keep our prices low we have chosen to stay as a "Click & Mortar operation only.
  • Q: What is the difference between a pit crew firesuit, and a driver suit?
  • A: There is no difference, they are all driver suits. Some just are worn by pit crew members.
  • Q: How safe are the firesuits that you sell?
  • A: The top level NASCAR teams that we deal with only buy the best quality suits from premier names like Simpson, Sparco, Oakley, Puma, Alpine Star, Sabelt, OMP, Impact, and more. Most of these suits cost the teams between $1500 and $2000 new!
  • Q: How is Race Image able to offer such low prices on racing suits?
  • A: Because most of the suits that we sell are "gently used", we are able to buy them at a great price, passing on the savings to you!
  • Q: I noticed that you also have great prices on helmets, racing shoes, gloves, NOMEX, and other racing gear. How are you able to do that?
  • A: Race Image concentrates on buying close-outs, end-of-life products, and volume purchase opportunities. We aim to offer the lowest prices on race gear for the budget conscious racers out there.
  • Q: Do you sponsor race cars?
  • A: No, sorry.
  • Q: If I put a sticker on my car, can I get a free racing suit, or a discount?
  • A: Sorry, no.
  • Q: What is the condition of the pit crew shirts that you sell?
  • A: Most of the shirts are race used, meaning they have been used while working on the NASCAR cars at the race track. It is fair to assume that they will contain some light stains, fading, thread pulls, or other signs or use.
  • Q: I see that some of your pit crew shirts, have names. Could you look for one that matches my name?
  • A: Sorry, we can't. All shirts will be shipped at random so there is no way of knowing what name may be on it, or if it even has a name.
  • Q: Can your pit crew shirts and firesuits be used to gain entry into the pits at a NASCAR race?
  • A: Absolutely not! We sell these to be worn at your leisure, or to be used for racing in the case of firesuits. The race teams we partner with are very clear that our customers do not purchase these items for track or pit access.
  • Q: Are your prices negotiable?
  • A: No. We do offer a military discount, and in some cases, a volume purchase discount. Other than that, we feel our prices are very low already. We will, on occasion, have sales. Please take advantage of these when they happen.
  • Q: Do your racing suits have SFI or FIA certification patches on them?
  • A: In almost all cases, the answer is Yes. NASCAR teams were required to display these patches, usually near the wrist, since 2006. Other racing series have displayed the FIA logo on the back of the neck even before that.
  • Q: Do you offer a military discount?
  • A: Yes, we proudly provide military members with a discount for your heroic service to our country. Contact us for details.
